Founder’s message

“Helping people emotionally and mentally had always been my dream.”

As a child, our founder Mercy struggled greatly with her own mental and emotional health — learning firsthand what it feels like to battle emotional instability silently, while appearing fine on the outside. That experience shaped her heart and set her on a path toward mental wellness and emotional support.

She pursued a Certificate in Health and Wellness at the Chartered Institute of Mentoring and Coaching Nigeria. But even before certification or official registration, helping people emotionally and mentally was already her calling. Over time, she saw the reality many Nigerians — especially young people — were living through: depression, anxiety, trauma, hopelessness, and a rising number of cases where people simply had nowhere to turn.

Mercy Wellness & Empowerment Initiative was created to help children, youths, adults, and the elderly become emotionally balanced, mentally stable, and hopeful again — supporting individuals, families, workplaces, schools, and underserved communities across Nigeria, especially those often forgotten or unseen.

“This is more than an organization to me. It is my dream. It is my calling. It is my life’s purpose.”
